JUST CAUSE 3 CRASHES,LOW FSP AND ERROR FIX

The open world, massive destruction and chaos causing game, Just Cause 3 is available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The game released worldwide on December 1st has received much positive reviews except for the severe performance and instability issues. Much of the issues were reported by PC users, and Avalanche Studios has been fast enough to cater to these issues with their weekly patch releases. Following are our some of the assorted fixes and optimizations that could help to improve the gaming experience.

Get the latest patch updates:-

  • The patch update 1.021 is the latest one that is available now for PC users. The 99MB patch is intended towards fixing the two most pressing issue. 
    - Improved Stability when exiting to desktop:- The update fixes the annoying crash that many users faced while exiting the game to desktop. 
    - Improved Memory Management:- This was a serious trouble to many users. Memory leaks has been a recent issue for many of the latest game releases, especially for low RAM users. Avalanche Studios strives to prevent this issue with this recent patch update.
  • Last week’s patch 1.02 also fixed some of the major issues. This was a 132 MB patch that fixes the following:- 
    - Long Loading times for the game has been fixed. Earlier players used to face 3 to 4 mins of frustrating load time waits which has been dealt by this patch. 
    - For PC users, screen resizing has been fixed. 
    - Players can now skip long cutscenes. Read the changelog for more details on these patches.

Resolution change causes the game to crash:-


PC users may face sudden crashes while changing the resolution from ingame settings. This can be fixed by manually tweaking the settings.json file.
  • Go to /Dcouments/Square Enix/Just Cause 3/Saves/0 and open settings.json file.
  • Set ‘DisplayFullscreenWidth’ and ‘DisplayFullscreenHeight’ to any desired resolution. This will cause the game to run at the specified resolution without crashing.

 Stuttering fix:- Disable Motion Blur from ingame Graphics settings.


  • Update AMD and Nvidia drivers to the latest release. This is a much needed step for AMD users specifically.
  • - If you are facing blurriness, try disabling SMAA_T2X as well as Depth of Field settings. Please note that the game does not support dual GPU configurations.

If updating GPU drivers doesn’t fix this issue, then try setting ‘Screen Space Reflections’ to Off in the in game Graphics options.

Just Cause 3 has stopped working:-

To fix this issue, make sure the GPU drivers are up to date, and then try changing the compatibility mode to Windows SP2 or SP3. To do this, right click Just Cause 3 exe file, go to properties, then change the required settings in compatibility tab.

How to Fix the Performance Issues

Many Players with low Pc specs try to run the game in lower settings which allow them to play at 30FPS. With this Fix, you can now lower your resolution from 1920x1080 to 1280x720 and run the game on highest settings which don't look bad at all. Just keep Following the Step-by-Step process and you will be done with it in no time.

Go Into Settings>Graphics
Step 3:
Lower Your Resolution to Whatever works BEST for you.

Save the setting and Exit the Game.

Right click again and Set the affinity to "Above normal" or "High"

How to Improve FPS (60+ fps)

  1. Turn down The LOD To Increase Fps.
  2. Nvidia Users set Antialiasing to 'FXAA' (10fps+)
  3. Turn 'Off' Global illumination (20fps+)
  4. Turn 'Off' Screen Space Reflections (20+fps)
  5. SSAO 'Off' (10fps+) 
  6. Screen Resolution and Global Illumination are meant to increase your fps without a huge quality loss.

How to Fix the Log In Issues

According to Just Cause 3, you must be logged into its server so you can get the access to the main leaderboard. Do you really care of the Leaderboard from the start? so why to allow it to bother simply turn it off. As there is no option to disconnect the internet in-game, we have to do it the other way.
